Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2026 Brezza at Rs 7.40 lakh, but there are two things we cannot tell you right now. First, Maruti hasn’t revealed the complete variant-wise prices. Second, an embargo prevents media from publishing comparisons with rivals until 27th August. So, for now, Rs 7.40 lakh and the specifications will have to do.
New Brezza 1.0L Turbo – Available Across Variants
One of the biggest developments is the return of Maruti’s K10C Boosterjet turbo petrol engine. This 1.0-litre direct-injection unit produces 110 hp and 170 Nm and is paired with a new 6-speed manual gearbox.
Unlike being restricted to only higher variants, the turbo petrol option is available across LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi Dual Tone, ZXi+ and ZXi+ Dual Tone trims. This gives customers access to the more powerful engine even with the entry-level Brezza.
Existing 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine continues as well. It gets the new 6-speed manual transmission, replacing the earlier 5-speed manual. A 6-speed automatic is available from VXi onwards, including ZXi+. Interestingly, ZXi+ with the K15C engine is automatic-only, whereas the turbo petrol ZXi+ gets the 6-speed manual.
Brezza CNG Gets 6-Speed Manual
There are notable changes for Brezza CNG as well. The 1.5-litre K15C CNG powertrain now gets a 6-speed manual gearbox and Idle Start Stop (ISS). CNG variants are available in LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Dual Tone trims. Another major change reported for the updated model is an underbody-mounted CNG tank. This addresses one of the biggest compromises associated with conventional CNG SUVs – reduced boot space.
More Than 13 New Features
Maruti has also strengthened Brezza’s equipment list, with more than 13 new features being introduced depending on the powertrain and variant selected. Even the LXi Turbo gets automatic climate control, driver seat height adjustment and adjustable rear headrests over the corresponding K15C LXi equipment.
Moving up to VXi Turbo adds dual-tone crystal-cut alloy wheels, rear defogger, electrically folding ORVMs and a reverse parking camera. ZXi Turbo gets another set of upgrades, including TPMS, blind-spot warning and front parking sensors. It also gets cruise control, rear wiper and washer, automatic headlamp levelling and two tweeters.
Brezza ZXi+ Gets Ventilated Seats, 10.1-inch Screen
Most of the headline features are concentrated in the range-topping ZXi+. New equipment includes ventilated front seats, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 64-colour interior ambient lighting, HD 360-degree camera and LED front fog lamps with extended lighting.
There is also an automatic air purification system with PM2.5 display, Gen3 telematics, semi-leather seats and smart seat-back pockets. Other equipment includes a head-up display, front centre armrest, auto-dimming IRVM, electrically folding ORVMs and dual-tone crystal-cut alloy wheels.
ZXi variants, meanwhile, offer equipment such as an electric sunroof, projector LED headlamps, LED DRLs, telescopic steering adjustment, 60:40 split rear seats, 4.2-inch colour TFT display, roof rails, rear armrest and push-button start.
Standard Safety Equipment
Entry-level Brezza gets a reasonably comprehensive safety package. Equipment includes six airbags, ESP with hill-hold assist, emergency stop signal and rear parking sensors. Other standard or entry-level equipment listed includes projector headlamps, LED rear combination lamps, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators, rear power windows, rear AC vents, manual day/night IRVM and 215/60 R16 tyres. Higher variants add features such as TPMS, blind-spot warning, front parking sensors, reverse camera and HD 360-degree camera.
Exterior Changes Remain Subtle
Compared to the mechanical and equipment revisions, styling changes are relatively modest. New Brezza gets an updated front grille with a dark chrome connecting element between the headlamps. Front bumper has also been revised with new detailing and a redesigned faux skid plate.
Fog lamp positioning has been changed, while fresh alloy wheel designs and dual-tone lower body cladding provide some differentiation along the sides. Rear design remains largely familiar. Brezza continues to measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,500 mm wheelbase.
Stronger Rival To Nexon, Venue, Kylaq, XUV 3XO
Addition of the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine significantly expands Brezza’s positioning within the sub-4-metre SUV segment. Earlier, Brezza relied entirely on its larger naturally aspirated petrol engine while most key rivals offered turbo petrol options. With the new K10C turbo producing 110 hp and 170 Nm, Brezza now has a more direct answer to turbo petrol versions of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq.
