In terms of exterior design and features, the Vision T concept closely resembles a futuristic member of the Thar family
Mahindra recently filed a design patent for Vision SXT, which was showcased last year on 15th August. And now, a design patent has been filed for the Vision T SUV as well. These two were among the four new concepts that were unveiled last year. The other two are Vision S and Vision X.
Mahindra Vision T design patent – Key features
With its tank-like body panelling, Mahindra Vision T comes across as a more ruggedized version of Thar Roxx. A number of features are also shared with Vision SXT concept. Key highlights include a slatted grille, square headlamps, a clamshell bonnet and flared wheel arches in squarish format.
A protruding front bumper is noticeable, which is likely to have space for off-roading gear. The SUV also has rugged skid plates and knobby off-road tyres. A distinctive design for the alloy wheels can be seen. Vision T has a tall, boxy presence with largely straight lines and perfectly drawn geometric shapes.
Other highlights include flat door panels, C-pillar mounted rear door handles and a flat roofline. At the rear, Vision T has square shaped tail lamps, a flat windscreen, a spare tyre and a prominent bumper with skid plate. Dimensionally, Vision T is expected to be around 4.3 meters long.
Interior
Inside, Mahindra Vision T focuses on optimizing space and utility. The cabin has a clutter-free ambience, all while offering a range of advanced features. One of the key highlights is a large vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system. Vision T has a digital instrument cluster, an elevated centre console and a new 3-spoke steering wheel.
Just like the exterior design, the cabin also features squarish and rectangular design elements. This design approach is noticeable across the dashboard, AC vents, door trims, steering wheel and even the seats. Similar to current-generation Mahindra cars, the Vision T is expected to get the latest in-car tech and a multitude of connectivity features.
Performance, specs
Powertrain details of Mahindra Vision T are yet to be revealed. The SUV will be based on the NU_IQ platform, which is designed to support ICE, hybrid and pure electric powertrains. Depending on consumer preferences, Vision T could be offered in petrol, diesel, hybrid and BEV formats. It will be interesting to see which options will be available at the time of launch.
Mahindra Vision T will have both 2WD and AWD variants. A good number of customization options and accessories are expected to be available. This will broaden the SUV’s appeal to a wider range of buyers. Among the four next-gen SUV concepts showcased last year, the Vision S is expected to be launched first. It could be introduced in 2027. Other Vision range SUVs including Vision T will be launched after that.
