Lexus has revealed a mid-lifecycle update for its second-generation NX SUV, tweaking its design, powertrain and feature list. The Japanese carmaker is yet to announce a launch timeline for the 2026 Lexus NX in India.
2026 Lexus NX facelift: Exterior highlights
The 2026 Lexus NX retains its overall shape but gets several design changes. Up front, it features a new frameless spindle-shaped grille and new LED headlamps that are integrated in a housing that extends down to the bumper. Each headlight now gets two DRL strips, whereas the previous model had one.
At the rear, the SUV gets illuminated 'LEXUS' lettering and revised LED tail-lamps connected by a light bar. Depending on the trim level and region, 18-20 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels are available. Lexus has also added new paint options, including Sonic Platinum and Sonic Tellus.
2026 Lexus NX facelift: Interior and features
Lexus says the design takes inspiration from the new ES sedan and TZ SUV. Compared to the pre-facelift model, the new NX's interior is more toned down and cleaner. The NX facelift replaces several physical buttons with touch-sensitive controls, while some functions are now accessed through the touchscreen.The touch-sensitive switches light up and provide feedback when touched. The drive mode selector is also now a toggle switch, replacing the traditional gear lever-style setup and there's a new steering wheel with 'LEXUS' lettering instead of the brand logo.
Four trims are on offer: Business, Executive, Luxury and F Sport, with availability varying by region. All trims get powered and heated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a massive 14-inch touchscreen. While the touchscreen is the same size as before, it now runs Lexus' latest LexusConnect multimedia system, with four times faster processing and 256GB of memory.
The Executive trim adds front seat memory and electric lumbar adjustment, ventilated front seats, a gesture-controlled tailgate, a 360-degree camera setup, wireless phone charger and multicolour ambient lighting.
The Luxury trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated rear seats and a head-up display. Lastly, the F Sport gets sportier exterior and interior elements, including piano-black exterior detailing, 20-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels and exclusive exterior and interior colour options.
Separately, the Executive trim can also be specified with 20-inch wheels, while the Luxury and F Sport can be equipped with an optional package that adds a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system and a digital rear-view mirror. All NX models come equipped with an ADAS suite.
2026 Lexus NX facelift: Powertrains
The NX is available in 450h+ (plug-in hybrid) and 350h (strong hybrid) versions. Speaking of the NX 450h+, its 2.5-litre petrol-plug-in hybrid setup now develops a combined output of 307hp, 15hp up from 292hp before. It also gets a new lithium-ion battery with the capacity increased by 30 percent from 18kWh to 23kWh. The NX 450h+ is available only in the all-wheel drive guise and it hits the 100kph mark from rest in 6.1 seconds (claimed). With this year's update, DC fast charging capability has been introduced with the 450h+, and the company claims an 10-80 percent charging time of 30 minutes. The NX 450h+ also gets a new 1,500W AC outlet, allowing the SUV to be used as a mobile power source. Even the electric-only range has increased from 72km to over 100km, as per Lexus.
Coming to the NX 350h, its 2.5-litre petrol-strong hybrid setup makes a combined output of 199hp. The carmaker has managed to reduce the hybrid battery's weight from 32.7kg to 23.5kg. Lexus claims that the 350h FWD hits the 100kph mark from rest in 7.7 seconds, while the AWD version does the same in 7.3 seconds.
Lexus currently sells the pre-facelift NX 350h in India, priced between Rs 67.59 lakh and Rs 74.50 lakh, ex-showroom. If the facelifted SUV is brought to India, its price could be revised to account for the updates and it will continue to rival the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60.
